Alle Armi was born from the collaboration between Hombre Collettivo, a professional theatre company, and Leonardo Delfanti, a journalist and performer, with the aim of combining journalistic practices and media literacy with live performance and theatre. The project seeks to promote critical awareness and active participation among diverse audiences, focusing specifically on the international arms industry and market.
The project does not focus on war in a broad sense, nor on specific conflicts, but aims to engage participants in a process of awareness, analysis, and questioning of the material context, as well as the production and economic dynamics underlying the geopolitical management of conflicts. These dynamics play a significant role in shaping and implementing international social and development policies. In the European and international context, they have rapidly evolved in light of recent and ongoing geopolitical events, and they daily involve public opinion and state and supranational policies in a complex decision-making process that impacts all productive, cultural, social, and educational sectors.
Through the intersection of theater and journalism, the project aims to explore the social and cultural implications of economic and political dynamics, encouraging dialogue, reflection, and shared action among social groups, as well as experts and professionals from different sectors.
The journey is not limited to an artistic and analytical exploration of the specific topic of the arms industry and international arms market. Instead, this theme becomes a vehicle for broader shared reflection on critical awareness of how media function and their role/power in society. It also promotes a conscious, attentive, and literate approach to images and image-based narratives that characterize contemporary media.
While the project begins with the theatrical framework, it seeks to expand its impact and potential, transforming it into a multifaceted and open process, welcoming cross-disciplinary influences. It serves as a starting point and also a dialectical hub for a shared dialogue with social actors.
The project is continuously expanding and benefits from the participation of partners with diverse roles and levels of involvement. Fundraising efforts are being carried out alongside the development of the project to support the international mobility of the working group and ensure fair working conditions. Additionally, these efforts aim to make the project feasible in disadvantaged and peripheral locations and contexts.
